If you are looking for the closest beach from The Barnfield Suites, September Morn is amazingly beautiful. Part pebble and part sand with beautiful driftwood, September Morn is an easy 20 minute walk downhill (and 25 minute walk back) from your ‘home away from home’. Or it’s just a 3 minute drive or 8 minute bike ride away.
September Morn beach faces south and east and provides stunning panoramic views of West Vancouver, the North Shore Coastal Mountains and BC Ferries passing by.
As most beaches on Bowen Island have strict pet restrictions during the summer, September Morn is one of a few spectacular beaches that is pet friendly throughout the year!
Here are the directions to September Morn Beach from The Barnfield Suites:
1 | Walk towards Taylor Road
From The Barnfield Suites, walk downhill along Channel View Road towards Snug Cove until you reach the mailbox (where Channel View Road curves 90 degrees). Please note that if you walk uphill from your suite, you will reach Valhalla. This is the wrong direction.
Continue walking until you reach the intersection of Cliff Road and Taylor Road. Make a left turn onto Taylor Road. You’re heading in the wrong direction if you see a camper van.
2 | Continue walking along Taylor Road
Continue walking north along Taylor Road and enjoy the beautiful foliage, cliffs and peek-a-boo views. Just be aware of light traffic as there are no sidewalks.
3 | Turn onto Hummingbird Lane
As you approach the end of Taylor Way, turn right at the stop sign onto Hummingbird Lane. If you are doing this walking trip during the summer, enjoy the abundance of wild blackberries along Taylor Way and Hummingbird Lane!
Continue walking south until you reach the end of Hummingbird Lane and you will find a parking area and sign indicating that you’ve reached September Morn Beach. Walk down the semi-steep hill and you’re there! You’ve walked too far if you see a sign that reads: Private Road.
