Bowen Island is very dog friendly! The majority of Bowen beaches are dog friendly throughout the entire year. However, your furry family members are NOT allowed on specific beaches and bays during the summer months of July and August.
The main reason behind these Bowen beach dog restrictions during the summer is that Bowen Island gets very busy with visitors and vacationers (with many infants, toddlers and children) during July and August, so certain beaches get very crowded during this time. In order to promote cleanliness and safety for all of our visitors, some beaches on Bowen Island are NOT dog friendly between July 1st and August 31st.
Having said that, ALL Bowen Island beaches are dog friendly, albeit not all beaches on Bowen are dog friendly for 12 months a year. In fact, many dog friendly Bowen beaches and trails offer doggie poop bags and signs indicating whether dogs need to be on leash or not.
Please note that The Barnfield Suites is a pet friendly and dog friendly Airbnb on Bowen Island. We are one of only a handful of Bowen pet friendly Airbnb accommodations. In addition, we are the ONLY Bowen Airbnb pet friendly home that allows for up to 2 dogs with no pet fee. In fact, we do not charge a pet fee at all. So you if you are looking for a quick escape with your furry family member, please consider staying at The Barnfield Suites pet friendly Bowen Airbnb accommodations.
